Play Ball!

So, in June I'm going with Kristi and Val down to Houston to party like rock stars for a few days. I really can't even say how excited I am about it! Yesterday we were able to secure tickets to see the Houston Astros play the New York Yankees while we're there...woohoo! The game sold out in like 15 minutes or so, so we were super lucky...and I'm totally stoked! I'm not personally devoted to either team, but I think I'm supposed to cheer for the Astros, or else my brother will beat me up. The moral of the story? I have to go shopping for a Houston Astros hat and/or cute jersey.

Too much? I don't think so. I mean...in the words of one of the musical giants of the 80s...if you're gonna do it, do it right...(R.I.P., Wham!)

Hot Date With Mister Right

As long as I'm still waiting for my Prince Charming to come along, I'm going to take as much advantage as I can to go out with the cutest boy in Laramie...aka...Tyler! He took all of his girlfriends for a Birthday Bash at Chuck E. Cheese in Fort Collins this weekend, and we had a ball. At one point I even turned into a Mario Cart racer...but I generally don't like to talk about that. ;)

Time Sure Flies

Oh my gosh! I didn't realize it had been so long since I last wrote...I think my hair grew about 18 inches!

Ha ha ha...

Okay, so maybe I've actually gotten my hair CUT since the last time I wrote...and maybe I'm just shown here with my new Jessica Simpson hair extensions. Maybe.

The moral of the story is that I'm going to try to write more...but if I can't...at least I can write to showcase the days when I resemble a rodeo queen...=)

These Girls ROCK!!

Just a quick shout out to Kristi and Val...who are the greatest friends ever! We had so much fun this past weekend, kicking butt on Guitar Hero, hiking in the mountains, playing games, going to the parade, and road tripping it down to Denver to see Harry Potter! I love these girls WAY too much...and every day I get to hang out with them is one of my best days ever! I'm just lucky to have them!!

The Longest Week Ever?

Holy moly...doesn't it seem like when you're waiting for something good to happen, the clock seems to stop completely? This whole week has been that way for me...=( Finally, however, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel...

VALARIE IS COMING TO VISIT TOMORROW!!

Woohoo! Kristi and Val are my two oldest and greatest friends. Of course, by oldest, I just mean that they've been my friends forever...(even before we came to Earth, I'm pretty sure)...and not that they are old. Because of course we are all very young and spry. And always will be. Stop assuming that we're old. Jerk.

Oh wait...back to the girls. Val's arriving tomorrow for a fabulous girl's weekend with me and Kristi. We're going to be partying in Denver, playing around in the mountains, playing Cowboy Golf, slumber partying it up...the whole deal. We only have three days but we'll squeeze as much fun as we possibly can into those 72 hours! Of course, if we had nothing to do but sit around all day...I'd still be having the time of my life with those two. They're the coolest!

I'm so so so so so excited!!

Walking On the Wild Side

So...the other day...maybe last week, I was at the store and I needed a new t-shirt for some reason...just a spur of the moment, it didn't really matter what it looked like t-shirt. And I found this green shirt. And I bought it. And...driving home, I thought "You don't have one single green shirt...and there's probably a reason. You're going to hate it! What a waste of money!"

As it turns out...it's like my new favorite shirt. I just love it. I don't generally like to talk myself up...(yeah right!)...but it's a REALLY good color on me. I'd like to wear the shirt every day for the rest of my life...but I tried that once with a sparkly unicorn shirt when I was 8, and my mom kind of got mad at me.

Moral of the story...just because you don't do something now...doesn't mean you won't love doing something. Trying something new could be the best thing that ever happened to you!

The Telltale Heart

Last night I took my nieces, Brittany, Shelly, and Sydney with me to my ward's Family Home Evening. The youngest of the three, Sydney, is eight. She's a little bit boy crazy...always has been. Close to the end of the evening, one the boys in one of the student wards was talking to her, and she somehow fell in love. It happens to the best of us...a cute boy shows us some attention, and BLAM!, we're falling fast.

Well, needless to say, when a crush has been developed...there is only one thing to be done. Steal that cute boy's hat. Admit it...you've done it. It seems like such a harmless thing...there is no way that he will know our true intentions...and yet, he'll see how fun-loving we are...AND we get to carry around his smelly old hat. It's the perfect plan!

Her would be boyfriend caught on quickly, however, and chased her around the room, yelling "who's flirting with me??" Of course this delighted her to no end...playing chase with the boy of your dreams...what could be better? Well, chasing turned into wrestling, wrestling turned into more chasing...and needless to say, Sydney...like any girl would be...was in 7th Heaven.

I thought about the evening as I drove the girls home...and listening to them all giggling about Sydney's escapades, I realize that girls really never change. We may get older and pretend that we're wiser...but really...it's all about doing whatever we can to get a boy to chase us. And if we can get him to think that it was his idea...well, that's even better.
